Mid-century | 1950s-1970s |

From the late 1930s to the 1940s jewellery was influenced by World War II - the supply of platinum was limited leading to a dominance of gold within jewellery making.  Flora and fauna forms gained popularity and designs frequently incorporated textured metal

Later during this period there was a resurgence in pearls and choker necklaces, along with charms (often attached to bracelets). Brooches were popular - often worn in groups, as well as singularly.

Jewellery crafted during the mid-century era was defined by large, bold and colourful statement pieces
